Why Prayer?
Practical ways we will empathize prayer in 2024:
- Prayer is vital to maintaining an authentic connection with God
- There is more to prayer than the box we often put it in
- Praying with one another for those who don’t know Christ can result in real life change: Acts 16:25-29
- Praying with one another and making requests known is a practical way to grow in Christ and follow him together
- Prayer is our way of humbling ourselves before God and letting him know how much we need him, to pursue him as he pursues us
- In order to receive confidence in God’s plan for our lives, we should ask for it in prayer: Psalm 27:3
Practical ways we will empathize prayer in 2024:
- Intentional church-wide prayer and worship nights starting once a quarter with the goal of having them once per month
- A future space dedicated prayer in the Tan House for anyone to use
- A few days out of the year will be dedicated to prayer and fasting throughout the day
- Ask a different household/individual to close in prayer at the end of each Sunday morning service
- More frequent invitations and guided prayers during Sunday morning worship
- A preaching series focused on different types of prayers in various contexts
- Open invitation to share inspiring testimonies of answered prayer, either from the stage on a Sunday morning or through a written testimonial we can share through email or on our website
